Computer-Aided Detection Computer-aided detection software (CAD) used in conjunction with digital mammography has been shown to increase cancer detection rates. After a radiologist has evaluated the digital mammogram, the CAD program then marks areas of concern that might be a mass or abnormal calcification. The radiologist can then focus on these areas to determine if they are significant based on comparison to prior mammograms. |
