Professional Recognition The Breast Center at Sierra Surgery Hospital has been recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. The Breast Center is among an elite group of 314 breast imaging facilities across the United States that have been selected for this honor. To receive this honor, The Breast Center earned accreditation in all of the ACR voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to other mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program requirements. Facilities receiving this designation are fully accredited in mammography, steroetactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. After rigorous review, experts in the imaging field determined that the facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs.
