Unequaled Professional Leadership

Dr. Antoinette Cortese is the head of the Breast Center of Sierra Surgery Hospital.

Her extensive training and experience in breast imaging, and her personal experience with breast cancer in her family provides her with a unique ability to understand and relate to her patients.

Dr. Cortese is one of only a select few radiologists who have received fellowship training in breast imaging. She completed a one-year fellowship program at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Her medical degree was earned from the University of Nevada and she completed her residency training at the University of Washington.

Following her fellowship training, Dr. Cortese was an assistant professor in the Breast imaging section at the University of Chicago. While at the University, she was involved in a large volume and wide spectrum of breast cancer cases, including the challenging cases referred into the academic hospitals.
